Following reports that a Fortnite x Uncharted partnership was in the works ahead of the live-action film's premiere, Epic Games announced the collaboration this week. Players who completed a puzzle this week were rewarded with a video including skins for Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazier from the Uncharted games and the upcoming movie.
Full release plans for these skins have yet to be revealed, and we've only seen the wearable skins so far, but once the collaboration is released it's likely there will be more cosmetics than these.
Below is the trailer that revealed the existence of the Uncharted crossover. You can visit the Fortnite site page to try to crack the code and guess the password if you want to have the experience of solving the challenge yourself, just like other players did. We get to see Fortnite versions of Nathan and Chloe, with a cinematic twist. These appearances include not only the versions of these characters that will appear in the film – for example, Tom Holland as Nathan Drake – but also as they appeared in the first Uncharted games.
fortnite has not confirmed any plans for the release of these skins, but based on the success of previous skins with alternate looks, we can expect to see movie versions of these cosmetics released, with players being able to unlock styles alternative video games (or vice versa) through challenges or other means.
This collaboration, one might expect, would not be limited to character skins. Pickaxes, back bling, and other cosmetics usually come with high-level crossovers like this, so expect to see them alongside those outfits once the collab is complete.
With the release of the new Uncharted movie less than a week away, expect to see one or two more TV commercials before it hits theaters. In the lead up to the release, things like posters and trailers have been released, with the film itself set to hit theaters on February 18. e .
