Disney+ Confirms When The Mandalorian Season 2 Will Start Airing

For many of us, The Mandalorian was the only reason to subscribe to Disney+. A show set in the Star Wars universe, featuring a bounty hunter and The Child (colloquially known as Baby Yoda), with a Western-style vibe. What's not to like?

If you've swallowed the first eight Emmy-nominated episodes and have been eagerly awaiting the second season, you'll be happy to know that Disney has now confirmed a release date.

When is The Mandalorian season 2 coming to Disney+?

As announced by Disney on its Star Wars Blog, season two of The Mandalorian will arrive on Disney+ on October 30, 2020.

As with the first season and other Disney+ Originals, you can expect new episodes to debut weekly rather than all at once.

Disney also showed off a new logo for the season, which you can see in the tweet below.

What do we know about The Mandalorian season 2?

Despite being less than two months away, we don't know much about The Mandalorian's second season.

That said, there have been quite a few rumors about what might be in store. These include an appearance by Rosario Dawson as live-action Ahsoka Tano (previously only animated in The Clone Wars), Michael Biehn as a bounty hunter, and the return of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.

Also, while not directly confirmed by Disney, the names of the directors are a bit more concrete. The line-up includes Ant-Man and Peyton Reed from The Wasp, Robert Rodriguez from Sin City, and (Greef Karga himself) Carl Weathers. Returning from the first season, Dave Filoni and Rick Famuyiwa.

A trailer is expected to debut in the coming weeks.

What about The Mandalorian Season 3?

Luckily, The Mandalorian season two came to an end entirely before the coronavirus pandemic arrived. Disney has already greenlit season three, which is in pre-production, so it's clear we'll be enjoying The Mandalorian for many years to come.

While waiting for The Mandalorian season 2, you can still rewatch the first season. Otherwise, don't forget what else Disney+ has available, like The Simpsons, Pixar Animations, and plenty of great classic movies.
