It's a great addition to any media center, and integrates with all your devices:mobile, desktop, you name it. Here's a closer look at how it all works.
Pushbullet is all about pushing content from one platform to another (the clue is in the name), and that's what Pushbullet for Kodi does best. Let's say you're browsing the web when you find a video you'd like to watch on your TV:just right-click the URL, then click “Send to Kodi”.
If the URL is something Kodi can play, Kodi will play it, simple as that. A few things I've noticed while testing this:
If Kodi is already playing something, by default Pushbullet won't interrupt it (you can also configure Pushbullet so that Kodi doesn't automatically play files sent to it, if you prefer). However, if you go to Pushbullet under Programs, you can review everything you've pushed to Kodi in one place.
You know those tools that let you read things you found on the Web later. 9 Tools to Save What You Read on the Web for Later. 9 Tools to Save What You Read on the Web for Later. Read More Pushbullet can work similar to that, but for your media center. It allows you to find a ton of stuff you'd like to see later, from a ton of different places, and then check it all out when you get home from work.
Just make sure you don't leave your media center at home, or anyone will automatically hear your videos play! Which could be embarrassing.
You know that thing when you're watching TV and your phone vibrates but you're too lazy to see what's going on? Pushbullet can optionally display your phone's notifications on your TV screen, so you don't have to move around to find out if it's something important.
And that's not the only notification trick here:you can also see Kodi notifications on your other devices. Speaking of notification integration, here's something I've been trying to accomplish for years:make what I'm seeing stop automatically every time the phone rings. If you have Pushbullet configured on your phone, this is a great feature to enable.
Admit it, now you're curious to have all this set up. We are here to help.
In Kodi, go to System , then Plugins . Select Install from repository , then Services , then scroll down until you find Pushbullet .
Once Pushbullet is installed you will need to configure it, this is where things get a bit tricky.
From the settings you will want to touch Authorize , At that point, your browser will open with instructions to log in. Do that, then go back to Kodi... we're not done yet.
See the field that says "Access Token"? Go to your Pushbullet account settings, then copy the token you find there. Go back to Kodi, click Access Token , then paste on your tab. Now, click Add / link this Kodi device and you should be done.
To make sure you're done, open Pushbullet on your computer or mobile device; you should now see Kodi as a listed device. Head over and hit a YouTube link – if it starts playing on Kodi, you're good to go!
