T1 VALORANT set to sign Pwny

North American and South Korean organization T1 are set to sign free agent Josh "pwny" VanGorder to the VALORANT roster, multiple sources have told Dot Esports and reporter Max "Purest" Katz. The 21-year-old is known for his dueling agent pool, but it's unclear if he'll keep the same role on T1. T1 will need to complete its roster with one final player before the start of the next VALORANT Champions Tour in North America, which is due to start on January 27.

Former Counter-Strike player Timothy "Autimatic" Ta is set to return to the Valve title with Evil Geniuses, according to a recent report by neLendirekt from 1pv.

Pwny had recently competed alongside TSM's academy roster in the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship Open 10, which ended on December 22. Pwny has been chosen to fill the vacancy left by Brandon "bdog" Sanders, who is expected to join Luminosity Gaming, as first reported on Upcomer.

Although Pwny performed well individually during the event, posting an average fight score of 258.6, TSM Academy was defeated by Radiance in the Grand Finals. The TSM Academy walked away with a grand prize of $750 and 400 circuit points.

T1 are almost done rebuilding their roster after a disappointing result last year. T1 failed to qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier, which would have been their only chance to compete internationally.

The VALORANT Champions Tour 2022 kicks off on January 10 in Europe and January 27 in North America.
