Spotify adds sound effects to help you survive the summer

This summer has not quite been what we all expected. However, while your dreams of pool parties and beach vacations may have been dashed, Spotify is here to help by digitally transporting you to a nicer place with its new immersive experience.

Take a vacation with Spotify

Spotify has launched a new website; an experience he calls I wish you were here. In a time when most of us are stuck indoors, you can use the website – in conjunction with a little imagination – to take a vacation.

First, choose one of the biggest songs of this summer, whether it's Break My Heart by Dua Lipa or Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles.

Next, choose your backdrop. Do you want to hear the waves lapping at the beach? The tweet from the birds in the park? Or maybe the joyful hubbub of a carnival?

The website will then work its magic and match the song to the atmosphere. All you have to do is lean back, close your eyes, and be whisked away from home.

Of course, no vacation is complete without friends to share it with. That's why you can also send a digital postcard via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with colorful illustrations and an evocative slogan.

The experience is available to all free and paid Spotify members on Wish You Were Here.

Listen to the songs of the summer

If you just want to enjoy the jams of summer, Spotify has you covered too. As detailed on For the record, the streaming service has put together a playlist of the most streamed songs from June 1 to August 15, 2020.

Leading the pack with 380 million streams is DaBaby's ROCKSTAR with Roddy Ricch, followed by The Weeknd, SAINt JHN and Jason Derulo.

Don't forget that Spotify has plenty of other summer-inspired playlists for you to enjoy all year round, including "Summer Throwbacks" and "Island Anthems".

There's also the "Your Summer Rewind" playlist, which features the songs you've played the most over the past summers.

Listen to Spotify with friends

Spotify often does unique experiences like this. These sorts of fun distractions are needed now more than others.

Music has the power to bring us together across any boundary. That's why you should try Wish You Were Here and share your music with your friends and family.
