James Caan

The show's producers made the decision to cast James Caan for the role of EX-CIA president of operations (Ed Deline) of the Montecito casino/hotel. It was the actor's first-ever role on a television show. However, Caan left the set during the fourth season because he wanted to start acting in movies again.

Josh Duhamel

Josh Duhamel stars as Caan's protege who becomes the president of operations after Caan leaves, but is demoted again when Caan returns to assume his role. Danny McCoy, the on-screen character played by Josh, goes through many life events, including work-related incidents and relationships.

Although he has a unique relationship with Caan's on-screen daughter, Delinda, Danny is involved with others throughout the series and even proposes to someone else. Yet, in the end, the guy gets down on his knees to marry Delinda in the show's final season.

Nikki Cox

Nikki plays the role of Mary Cannon, a manager responsible for all events in the casino/hotel. Although she starts out as a resort manager, she is promoted throughout the series. Mary is involved in an affair with Danny from the beginning of the series and the latter had proposed to her in the 2nd series. However, after thinking about it, she rejects him after initially saying yes. Things get complicated with Mary as her father is introduced in the series.

Mary's father sexually abused his daughter at a very young age and Mary is ready to see justice done. After losing the case against her father who returned the court's verdict in her favor because of his connections, Mary switches to murderous intent. Purchasing a gun in series four, she kills her father and escapes the hotel, never to be seen again. She sends Danny a postcard in season five letting him know she's fine and living her life in a dream house she always imagined.

The truth is, however, that the problem was quite different. Cox was released from the show due to budget constraints and the story of her father and his escape after killing him seemed like a good way to end Mary's story.

Jacques Lesure

James stars as Mike Cannon, the head valet at the hotel who quickly befriends Danny. Mike is brought to safety by Ed and slowly begins to step into his role. He has many relationship issues throughout the series before settling down and getting married in the final season. Mike Cannon becomes Chief Security Officer after Danny becomes President of Operations.

Vanessa Marcil

The Samanta James guy is played by Vanessa Marcil. Her character is introduced as a cool, relentless businesswoman who takes over Montecito. She also offers her fair share of relationships that keep her character interesting. However, the turnaround occurs when she fails to pay the hotel/casino taxes, ultimately causing the property to pass to another buyer, thus concluding her on-screen persona.

Molly Sims

Molly Sims plays Ed's on-screen daughter, Delinda. She includes a major in psychology and is presented as a pro person responsible for meals, drinks and entertainment in Montecito. Delinda Deline is involved with Danny, however, she leaves the hotel during the third season for another resort where she establishes a connection with Derek, her high school sweetheart. Derek asks her to marry him, which she accepts, but upon finding out that her father was shot in season three, she rejects the proposal. Delinda is asked to join the hotel again as she was considered the most efficient host and attracted many guests once the hotel was under previous management. She becomes involved with Danny and becomes pregnant using their baby in season five. The season's conclusion shows a massive cliffhanger where she bleeds out, letting the audience discover the fate of the unborn child.

Marsha Thomason

Marsha stars as Nessa Holt, leader of the casino's pitball team. She is also Delinda's sister-in-law (not by blood). Nessa's father was a friend of Ed's and so after his disappearance, Ed felt responsible for Nessa's upbringing. In season three, Nessa flees the hotel to live out her life with her father who had resurfaced, and her sister who was simply considered lost for a long time.

Tom Selleck

Tom stars as AJ Cooper in the series who is among Montecito's newest owners. AJ is a billionaire and ex-Marine with a solid background in battles. AJ is, however, presumed dead when his helicopter crashes, but at his memorial service, he baffles many by attending.
