Amazon Prime Video has a lot to offer this year. The holidays are right around the corner, and it's time to start thinking about what great gifts you can give anyone on your list this season. Amazon Prime Video will offer more original programming than any other channel on TV this year. Amazon has acquired the movie channels of NBC and CBS, and those will be included as well. You'll also find sports highlights, reality series, and educational videos that will help everyone stay up to date with what's happening in their chosen fields. Here's a quick list of some of the most popular movies and TV shows you can expect to see on Amazon Prime Video this season.
The Extended series is set in the future on Mars. A corporate war has torn the planet apart and the survivors are being held against their will in a quarantine facility. One of the characters, a systems engineer played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster, finds an android named Merrika who seems to be the key to the survival of the humans held there. The android provides Merrika with mysterious information that helps her team chart a course of action to return to Earth and eventually find their way home. The first season ended with the second season premiere, called "eps2", where the characters were introduced to the larger world of Mars. I don't know if Amazon will release an extended version of the series, or if they will just continue the exploits of the main characters.
Neil Gaiman's beautiful novel Neverwhere is based on a real town called Neverland. In this book, Neverland becomes very important for all the main characters. The story follows the adventures of three different families as they deal with day-to-day problems and day-to-day issues that will affect them as they grow apart. It's an exquisite and charming book that deserves a re-read or at least a repeat if you missed it the first time.
Another classic of the genre created by Amazon is American Gods. It is an intense and thought-provoking book that almost any contemporary reader will find intriguing. It's a high-quality drama that's well worth your time, and Amazon Prime Video streams it in high definition. It's one of Neil Gaiman's best works and one of the best shows on American television right now.
If you love listening to podcasts, you'll love watching Fleabag, the new podcast from the creators of Radiolab. Fleabag features stories from many of today's top authors as well as new voices. It's a fantastic podcast you can sink your teeth into. You can also add Amazon Prime Video to this list, as it's another classic, especially if you like podcasts.
If you want to see beautiful drama set in the familiar Boston landscape, you should watch Dead Man's Chest. This drama is quite different from other dramas of the same genre as it is a great hour of television that you won't want to miss. It also stars award-winning actors Kevin Spacey and Edward Norton, who really brought the character of Matthew McConaughey to life. It's a wonderful hour of television that you absolutely must experience.
Amazon also recently released the second season of its hit reality show Scrubs. You may not have watched the first episode of the series, but you've probably seen at least a few. The popular medical drama is currently on the hunt for a new spinoff to replace therapist Dr. David Palmer (warehouse consultant Eric Wareham). According to Entertainment Weekly, a synopsis for the upcoming season 2 has been released, and it's sure to be even more hilarious than the first season. A press release stated that the new season will focus on "establishing Dr. Palmer's place in the hospital".
If you're looking for good entertainment that doesn't have to be network TV, Amazon has some great options for you this year. The Dark Below and Man on the Moon:The Director are available for you to watch on demand now. If you like both of these movies, you'll definitely want to continue your Amazon Prime Video subscription so you never miss a second of what you're watching on demand. That's what makes watching movies on Amazon so great – you don't have to miss a thing.
