There is no definitive music platform. Some major artists want nothing to do with Spotify. Some emerging artists are only on SoundCloud. And your own music collection can include local files that are yours alone to listen to. If you want all that music in one place on your Mac, the free Sylo desktop app is on your way to filling an important music gap.
After downloading Sylo to your computer, you will need to sign up for a free account before you can connect your Spotify and SoundCloud accounts. Once you've done that, you can log in to those services through Sylo. Music in your iTunes library should automatically appear in Sylo without any effort on your part. (Note that there is no way to reset your password, so if you do get disconnected from Sylo, be sure to write down your username and password.)
In addition to accessing all your playlists and saved songs across all three platforms, Sylo also offers its own Discovery tab where you can find and follow all kinds of playlists across YouTube, SoundCloud, and Sylo itself. If you don't have a Spotify account, you can still listen to Spotify Sylo playlists without signing in.

Unfortunately, other music platforms like Apple Music aren't included, and knowing Apple's track record, that won't happen any time soon.
