According to the developers of RIOT, the account level has been added for better clarity between the participants of a game, be it your teammates or your opponents. Until now, we had a battle pass every season to show off all the XP grinding players have been up to, and as a reward, players get lots of cosmetics and in-game items like sprays and a friend guns, but there were no rewards that showed how long a player had put into the game. as you devote time to it.
However, many players have reported increased toxicity towards them, either due to their low/high account level, or even their account level due to rank disparity. The issue caught the attention of Valorant developers and they decided to implement a feature that will allow players to hide their account level from other players.
“We've seen account level feedback sometimes used as fuel being toxic to another player (whether it's their rank-to-level ratio, or something else). We hear you and are working on it right now (along with other minor account leveling improvements),” said Naoise Creaven, lead producer at Valorant. This feature could be added soon enough in the upcoming Act 2 Episode 3.
