Shroud explains why he stopped playing PUBG and says "the game is old and done"

PUBG is a game that needs no introduction. The game has come a long way and it is still played regularly by millions of active users. The game originally launched for PC consoles in 2017 and for mobile devices a year later. The esports of PUBG and PUBG Mobile have reached high standards in all parts of the world and thus generate a lot of revenue. But, popular YouTuber and Twitch Streamer Michael Grzesiek, AKA shroud has a different perspective on gaming these days.

Michael Grzesiek , otherwise known as Shroud is a Canadian streamer, YouTuber and former professional Counter-Strike:Global Offensive player. It plays and streams various BR titles such as CSGO, PUBG PC, Apex Legends, Valorant, Escape from Torkov and many more. Recently, he posted a video on his YouTube channel explaining why he doesn't play PUBG as often as before.

According to a report from Dexerto, Shroud hasn't been seen playing PUBG in a while, which hadn't happened earlier. Looking at its Twitch recordings, PUBG has been the most streamed game on the platform. Although he hasn't played the game for a number of reasons, the popular streamer is eagerly awaiting a sequel that will allow the game to make a sensational comeback. He also adds that PUBG is now "old, dated and done".

Shroud explains why he stopped playing PUBG

Shroud recently posted a video (dated July 17) titled "Why I'm Not Playing PUBG" and made some sensational claims about the Popular BR title. While we can see him getting roughed up in the game from time to time, we can't seem to play him regularly like he once did. Here are the statements made by Shroud:

“This is how my PUBG experience usually goes,” he said. “The first few games are actually pretty fun. Then this happens for the next 10 [minutes]… It’s just spawn, get a kill, die, spawn get a kill, die… It doesn’t matter where I go.”

"People think they want this game. But in reality… it's old, it's dated, it's done. That's it. Let's move on. Wait for PUBG2.” Shroud explains why he stopped playing PUBG and says the game is old and done

“You know what this game would benefit from… [introducing a new system that involves] opening up the map and going, 'alright, I'm going to click and spawn here, I'm going to click and spawn here, I' m going to click and spawn here, you know?”

So, Shroud says a sequel could save the game from its current state of demise. But when it comes to recent Sensor Towers revenue reports, PUBG mobile is still in the top 5 in terms of revenue. It should be noted that the game is one of the first games to cross the billion download mark (combined both Play Store and App Store). The game is doing quite well on the mobile platform and releasing new titles such as Battlegrounds Mobile India and PUBG:New state. The active player base of the PC platform is in decline. The PC platform video game player base is dominated by users of COD and other titles. There are several reports that the PUBG sequel is in development. It will be interesting to see how the game makes its return to the PC platform.
