The COD Warzone Season 4 trailer reveal finally took place during a live event in a YouTube video created by Summer Game Fest. The stream took place on Thursday, June 10 at 7 p.m. BST (11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET). The official Summer Game Fest account previously confirmed the stream on Twitter yesterday, June 7.
The video reveals parts of upcoming items as part of COD Warzone Season 4 and other games as part of the festival. Hosted by Geoff Keighley "with a performance from Weezer, Day of the Devs and more!" Geoff Keighley, the host of the event, previously posted a hype trailer on Twitter last weekend, which featured games set to appear at the show. The short teaser included footage from Overwatch 2 and Horizon forbidden to the west. The show also features "the reveal of a new adventure from Gearbox and 2K", which was shared as part of a teaser website.
Johana Faries, SVP and GM of Call of Duty, attended the session to reveal the new game assets as well as the June 17 release date. In his own words, "It's jam-packed with new content across the Cold War and Warzone...new maps, new weapons, and 'new badass operators', hijacked gulag, unleashed zombies."
The official trailer was definitely captivating and worth the hype which seemed to start with a masked man hijacking space rockets, followed by 3 game modes as follows:
The setting appears to be very unruly in the official trailer, with unlocked zombies and what appeared to be fiery dragons or monsters in the backdrop. The trailer ended with a train stomping scene and caught up with the hype from the audience. Additionally, the World Series of COD will launch on June 22, primarily to highlight the Call of Duty competition, apparently with the biggest prize pool in Warzone.
Additions to this include custom lobby experiences with 150 players, and COD has partnered with Twitch Rivals to accompany in an area of mutual growth and see competitive Warzone on a more global display. In summary, the trailer kept the hype going and gave audiences something to swoon over.
