According to HIITSCAN, a popular Valorant leaker recently spoke about the upcoming changes for the Duelist who was almost kicked out of the meta. Yoru has a shocking 8.9% pick rate by pro-Valorant players in tournaments, despite being a duelist with self-sufficient flashes and teleportation.

While Yoru had become one of the weakest agents in Valorant following several small nerfs that followed throughout the patches after he launched into the game, RIOT attempted to restore balance to the game and improve the duelist.

"We've learned that in addition to our Duelists needing to offer something unique on the pitch, they also need to have a solid base value that any team at any turn can rely on in order to maintain strong viability. on any team composition,” Riot said earlier.

The upcoming changes for Yoru are as follows:

  • NO flash change

Free-riding

  • Gatecrash will reduce the range at which enemies can see and hear the tether being thrown, movement speed is 20 faster, and euro can now activate door collision tethers that the devs call in to trigger a fake teleport.
  • The developers have added a small puddle effect to the fake teleport.

Fakeout

  • Instead of steps, Fakeout is now a full copy of Yoru. He appears in blue for his teammates and normal enemy Yoru for enemies.
  • When the copy is fired, it flashes the enemy.

Dimensional drift

  • Yoru is no longer revealed to enemies.
  • Yoru is able to cast all abilities as an ultimate.
  • Near vision is removed.
  • Enemies can hear his footsteps.
  • Weapon equip time is increased after the ultimate.
  • Added cast delay on ultimate cast.

Valorant's fifth Duelist didn't quite live up to expectations. Ever since Yoru landed on the live servers, he's been an extremely niche pick both online and at the highest levels of competition. The meta might change soon.
