Here is a top 10 Korean movies from the past that I enjoyed. These range from the comical to the deplorable and include both action movies and taped shows. Three of them have been retired from duty in Korea in the past few years or so.
My Sassy Girl – Based on a true story that a man posted on the internet, My Sassy Girl became hugely popular in East Asia in 2001, running in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan . It prompted a forgettable American straight to the plate to revamp in 2008, with Elisha Cuthbert (who is remarkable). My Sassy Girl tells the story of a classmate who meets a young, alcoholic woman - nicknamed simply the "Young Woman" - on the subway and all the strange experiences they have while beginning to have wondering eyes. You will never accept where the plot is going in this one.
Joint Security Area (JSA) – The Joint Security Area in the DMZ between North Korea and South Korea and this film tells the story of a double shootout in the JSA. It culminated in growing tension on both sides of the fringes, an examination by a Swiss-Korean lady, and nearly two hours of extraordinary, if not unlikely, diversion.
Old Boy: Oldboy is one of the most popular Korean films with American crowds, renowned enough to hit CNN during the filming of The School of Virginia a few years ago. Oldboy is about a man who is robbed and held in a dwelling for a very long time, and what happens when he runs away. Get ready for the curve, just like watching Oldboy go crazy with his mallet. In case they do the American change of Oldboy, it will really suck. There are simply an excessive number of base parts that they would need to change for US mobs. Oldboy was amazing, though.
Compassion to Lady Vengeance: Like Oldboy, Sympathy For Lady Vengeance was coordinated by Park Chan-wook. This is considered a feature of his "Three Retribution Set" (alongside Sympathy For Mr. Retaliation). When a lady is released from prison, having carried out a punishment for a wrongdoing that she did not submit to, it is an ideal opportunity to distribute retributions against the real culprits.
Arahan: Arahan is an expertly panned 2004 activity satire, however, it found a crowd of people. The moment the 6 Tao Masters conclude that a crass cop has the Chi to transform into "Arahan" and rule the world, you realize a wide range of madness will ensue. Either you'll love this one or you'll despise it.
Silmido: Silmido is a South Korean island where, in 1968, an exceptional group of professional killers were prepared to kill former North Korean tyrant, Kim Il-Sung, in defiance of North Korea's efforts to kill the president south korean. In light of simple features, including a 31-man group of thugs or fighters with extraordinary powers, depending on who you're talking to, Silmido investigates Korea's corrupt past. At the end of its run, Silmido was the first South Korean film to be seen by 10 million Koreans in theaters.
The President's Last Shot: Another film depicts functions from South Korea's sordid past. The President's Last Bang is about the 1979 death of the South Korean president by his companion and director of intelligence. It would be a questionable film either way, but the story is told as dark satire, which has prompted claims and court rulings. For those inspired by Korean history and Korean film history, you must see this one.
Chunhyang – If you love period pieces, Chunhyang is the story of a love and marriage wrapped up between an aristocrat and a mistress's granddaughter in 18th-century Korea. Chunhyang uncovers the real brutal factors of pre-present Korean culture. At the time when the respectable spouse disappears for a period, an official examines the lady, which you know will cause difficulties.
Weapons and speeches – After a tragedy, you should watch a parody. Firearms and Talk is a parody about four people who choose to turn into a group of professional killers. By the time two or three criminologists pounce on their case, things get a little crazy. Although Guns and Talk has various questionable circumstances, if you enter the movie with the right demeanor, you should like it. Guns and Talk have smooth visuals. However, if you don't mind infrequent split screens, you can grab a pass.
Memories of Murder – Another Korean movie dependent on authentic features is Memories of Murder, about the chronic executioner who threatened South Korea from 1986 to 1991. Memories of Murder was a hit with both pundits and crowds alike, so expect an imaginative film that holds your consideration.
