In May 2011, the eyes of the whole world turned to the United States, and more particularly to one man:Dominic Strauss-Kahn. The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who is expected to be elected President of the French Republic the following year,is accused of sexual assault. Nafissatou Diallo, the maid of the Sofitel, the hotel where he is staying, accuses him of rape.
Almost ten years after the events, no one has forgotten the "DSK affair". For those who can't remember a few story details, Netflix is there, and will offer from next December 7, 4 episodes dealing with this legal case.
In this documentary shot between April 2019 and October 2020, we will dive back into several cases concerning Dominic Strauss-Kahn. The former director of the IMF had some problems with the law, long before being accused by Nafissatou Diallo. In all, it's four court cases which will be discussed and in particular that of the Carlton De Lille. He was accused of pimping.
Throughout the documentary, many people will come to testify about the DSK affair, supported by numerous archive images. But the most awaited intervention is indeed that of Nafissatou Diallo herself . Producer Philippe Levasseur and Managing Director of Capa Presse told HuffPost :
Dominic Strauss-Kahn did not wish to speak . His wife at the time, Anne Sinclair, also rejected the production's proposals. French politicians such as Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande also refused to participate in the documentary.
