13 years ago, France discovered in the cinema the film LOL which told the story of a high school girl and which followed her love life. Since then, the actors have changed a lot.
If you've read this sentence while humming it in your head, no doubt you've watched the film LOL released in 2008. In this feature film directed by Lisa Azuelos (who also plays the film's psychologist), we discover Lola (Christa Theret), a 16-year-old teenager who discovers her first romantic emotions but also her first sorrows . She juggles between high school, her complicated relationship with Maël (Jérémy Kapone), but also with the arguments she may have with her mother (Sophie Marceau) whom she sometimes flees to take refuge with her father (Alexandre Astier).
A real phenomenon, LOL explores Parisian adolescence in a very light way, sometimes falling a bit into the cliché but still manages to make all its characters very endearing. Besides, after so many years, what has become of the faces of a film that marked an entire generation of pre-adults?
If some actors of LOL have managed to bounce back brilliantly after having shot in this film, others, on the other hand, have preferred to turn the page on their career as an actor or actress. This is particularly the case of Marion Chabassol who played Charlotte, Lola's best friend. After playing in "I like watching girls" by Frédéric Louf in 2011, the young woman who is now 28 years old gave up cinema and film sets and embarked on business school.
Émile Bertherat, who played Paul-Henri, has also disappeared from radar. He now lives and works in the United States and teaches English.
