But for most of us, there are areas that we overlook when cleaning, like our Kindle libraries. While it's easy to delete eBooks from a Kindle device or Kindle mobile app, deleting books from your Kindle cloud account isn't as easy.
In this post, we'll go over how to do both.
You can delete eBooks from your device or app directly within that device or app. Navigate to the list of downloaded titles on your device, find the title you want to remove, press and hold the title, and select Remove from device . (These steps are the same whether you're using a Kindle or the Kindle mobile app.)
When you delete from a device or app, the title remains in your account and you can download it again in the future.
If you want to completely delete the book from your cloud account, you'll need to use a web browser. Sign in to your Amazon account, then go to Manage your content and devices. Here you will find a list of all the titles in your account.
If you have a family account, you'll also see titles that were purchased by other family members. These will be clearly labeled Shared with you . Only if you are added to the account as an adult family member, you will be able to remove them.
Find the book you want to delete and click the menu button with three dots to the left of the title and click Delete in the menu that appears.
You will have an opportunity to confirm that you want to remove the title. Click Yes, delete permanently .
You will see a confirmation that the item has been queued for deletion. There doesn't seem to be a way to access that queue, and if at a later date you decide you want to get that book back into your cloud account, you'll have to pay for it again.
