PUBG Mobile, published by Krafton and marketed by Tencent Holdings, generated the highest overall revenue according to a report by Sensor Tower.
PUBG Mobile is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of South Korean video game company Bluehole, now known as Krafton. The game was initially released for PC versions. Tencent having signed a publishing agreement with Bluehole for the Windows version, also announced that they are developing the mobile version of PUBG with the help of LightSpeed &Quantum Studio, an internal division of Tencent Games. The game was released worldwide on March 19, 2018.
Since then, Tencent has grown rapidly, with PUBG Mobile racking up over 1 billion downloads in March 2021 and also becoming the top-grossing game in July 2021.
According to a report by SensorTour, PUBG Mobile generated over $299 million from player spending in July, which grew nearly 26.7% more than the previous year. It is followed by Honor of Kings, another video game from Tencent which became the second highest grossing mobile game in the world with over $231.2 million in gross revenue.

PUBG Mobile has generated over $1.5 billion in gross revenue and is expected to hit the $2 billion mark in the coming month. Around 68.4% of PUBG Mobile's revenue came from China and the localized version of the title, Game For Peace, followed by 6.7% from the United States and 6% from Turkey. Revenue does not include third-party Android stores in China or other regions.
PUBG PC also became the 5th best-selling game of all time with 75 million copies sold. The game has solidified in emerging markets such as India, the Middle East and North Africa according to a press conference held by Krafton on July 25, 2021. Genshin Impact by Mihoyo managed to land the 3rd position for generating the highest revenue. Even though Garena Free Fire has grown rapidly, especially in countries where PUBG Mobile has been banned, it could only secure the 9th position.
Pokémon GO also did very well in July 2021, generating $150.4 million in player spend worldwide. Part of that success stems from Pokémon GO Fest, an annual paid event. The global mobile games market generated $7.6 billion in player spending on the App Store and Google Play in July 2021, marking a 7.2% year-on-year increase.
Roblox, Coin Master, Candy Crush Saga, Uma Musume Pretty Derby, and Three Kingdom Tactics are other games that managed to make the top 10 list.
