In 2015, the departure of actor Patrick Dempsey from the legendary series Grey's Anatomy saddened fans of the television show. Six years later, a book sheds light on this event.
Grey's Anatomy remains one of the most beloved series of all time. Love, betrayal, medicine, dramas... An ambitious cocktail that still seduces. The actors have changed a lot since the start of the series in 2005. But in 2015, an event will tarnish the image of the show:the departure of the much appreciated Patrick Dempsey a.k.a Dr. Shepherd.
The reasons given so far to justify this choice have been only very brief, but the book How to Save a Life:The Inside Story of Grey's Anatomy , which will soon be released, should make some revelations.
Six years after the departure of Patrick Dempsey, fans are still taken aback by such a production choice. They will soon have the first answers with the release of the book How to Save a Life:The Inside Story of Grey's Anatomy by Lynette Rice.
In excerpts unveiled by The Hollywood Reporter and reported by BFM, the author reveals some of the reasons that led the actor to leave:"There were problems with human resources (... ) It wasn't a sexual thing at all. But he sort of terrorized the crews on set. Some actors felt stress and anxiety because of him ", reveals James D. Pariott, the executive producer of the series. The direction of the series Grey's Anatomy had also distinguished itself by offering its medical equipment to hospitals.
But another reason could explain the departure of the famous Dr Mamour . The working conditions, including the long hours spent in a studio or on set, were not at all to the actor's liking. "Chaotic working hours " would have frustrated Patrick Dempsey.
In addition, the other star, Dr Meredith, played by Ellen Pompeo, reportedly had tensions with her colleague "She was sometimes annoyed by Patrick and she got upset because he did not work as much as she did. (...) She really wanted everything to be fair " unveiled the executive producer in Lynette Rice's book.
