Weapon skins are weapons in VALORANT that have a modified appearance. There are pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, snipers, and heavy hitters, each offering a unique and different way to play tactical shooter. They can be purchased in the store with Valorant Points or Radianite Points. Vandal's Anime Collections are mostly offered in exchange for a generous amount of Valorant Points, but it's definitely worth buying.
Recently on a Blog post, the devs at RIOTR explained the design process for some of the recent skins we've seen in Valorant, including the recent LOL Sentinels of Lights, Ruination, and K/TAC crossovers from the battlepass. "I was even able to use one of his textures for the custom material I was making, which ultimately saved time and made the gun skin more consistent!" he said.
Chris Stone, a weapons artist who is part of Valorant's premium content team, said, "Sentinels of Light is Riot's big summer event, bringing the 'Ruined' and 'Sentinel' themes to each of our games. While VALORANT doesn't occupy the same space as League of Legends, it was a fun opportunity to bring the "Black Mist" invading Runeterra to our guns.
When creating the "Ruination" skins, Chris worked with the team's FX artist on the signature shapes of the Black Mist effect. In fact, one of the textures created by the FX artist ended up being used. The "Sentinels of Light" skin highlighted the "Relic Stone" which can hold the Black Mist at bay. The main idea behind bringing the skin is to try and resist "Ruination" in the League of Legends universe.
K/TAC skins are an example of extending the lifespan of new weapon skin technology such as Ruination. Peeking inside the skin is definitely worth it.
