In a future where virtually all crime has been eliminated from society thanks to a trio of gifted humans who can see crimes being committed before they are actually committed, Minority Report introduces advanced technology.
Wall-E is an animated movie that appeals to adults and children alike. While the central plot is more about how we treat the planet, the technology makes its presence felt through a) the robots that prove to be the saviors of humanity, and b) the doom of our current obsession with sitting by observers. digital screens instead of experiencing the real world.
If you can see past Shia LaBeouf's amazing performance, then you should be able to enjoy Eagle Eye as a fast-paced, action-packed thriller. Technology plays an important role in this film that deals with surveillance, networks and supercomputers. Most of it is completely unrealistic, but it's still an entertaining watch.

Because Tony Stark is an engineer and inventor with extraordinary abilities. And he builds Iron Man out of a little bit of scrap metal. In a cave. What more could you want?
A movie based on a book about a social network. It hardly sounds like the most compelling idea, and yet the Social Network works on multiple levels. In case you're not aware of the film, it shows a version of the events that led to the formation of Facebook, now a public company with over a billion users. And it will attract geeks from all over the world.
Unplugging is a drama that shows how technology affects the lives of real people, with several different stories happening at once and occasionally converging. Topics explored include cyber bullying and excessive social media sharing, identity theft, online pornography, and our over-reliance on smartphones. The only comedy on our list will leave geeks rolling on the floor laughing or spitting obscenities at the screen. For starters, you have to accept the idea that two 40-somethings are computer illiterate. So you have to deal with technical language that is almost correct, but slightly outside the point of annoyance.
