Filming for season 6 of Better Call Saul has begun! Release date, cast, plot... discover everything we know about this final season!
Season 6 of Better Call Saul will have 13 episodes, instead of the usual 10. It will be broadcast on AMC and on Netflix like the previous ones. Its filming began in February 2020, before being interrupted due to the global pandemic. A terrible disappointment for all the fans, for whom the wait becomes unbearable. We remember that the last episode of the fifth season, broadcast in February 2020, featured the assassination attempt against Lalo Salamanca. There is no doubt that the latter will not fail to take revenge in this new season. We reveal everything we know so far about season 6 of Better Call Saul!
The good news comes to us from Peter Gould, the series' co-creator and co-showrunner. This one shared the first photo of the shoot on Twitter last March. We can see Bob Odenkirk (aka Saul Goodman) in the skin of Gene. As a reminder, this is the false identity taken by Saul Goodman after the events of Breaking Bad.
This leads us to believe that Gene will have an even bigger role in this new season by Better Call Saul.
Bob Odenkirk also shared his enthusiasm on the upcoming season:
We can add to the chapter of good news the fact that the first episode of this season 6 will be directed by Michael Morris, who has already directed three episodes of the famous Breaking Bad spin-off. We also know that Marshall Adams will be the director of photography on the season. He also directed the photography of the film Breaking Bad:El Camino.
For the moment, no release date has been announced, either by Netflix or by AMC. Several American media are considering a broadcast at the end of 2021. This remains possible but a return of the series in 2022 seems more likely.
Anyway, we know that this final season will end the adventures of our favorite crooked lawyer! So, will she meet the same fate as Breaking Bad? We remember that season 5 (and final) of the latter had been cut into two parts. And this so that its 16 episodes are broadcast in two stages. Peter Gould said he wants a one-shot broadcast, but AMC still reserves the right to change the broadcast. Nothing is certain, therefore, at this stage...
Regarding the cast, we already have a good overview! The actors interpreting the important characters of the previous seasons will be back.
The full cast:
The real question is about whether or not the Breaking Bad alumni are there. Season 6 of Better Call Saul must indeed bridge the story of the two series. We can therefore easily imagine that the scenario foresees the more or less long appearance of characters seen in the eldest of Better Call Saul.
This was already the case in season 5. Dean Morris (aka Hank Schrader) and a handful of others then showed their heads. But, of course, the ones fans want to see on screen are Walter White (performed by Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). Will their presence make sense in this final season of Better Call Saul? Aaron Paul doesn't seem to agree...
Surprise, so...
Season 5 of Better Call Saul was unanimously praised by the review . Bob Odenkirk even considers it to be the best season. Some observers have outright claimed that Better Call Saul manages to top Breaking Bad over time in terms of quality!
Better Call Saul is indeed a fascinating series, and this for many reasons. We love the fact that she is interested in both the transformation of Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman and the moral and legal sprains that led him to take this direction.
The whole post-Breaking Bad period is also exciting! Especially when Saul Goodman is on the run and works in a fast food restaurant under the name of Gene Takavic.
So, what can we expect for this final season? Spoiler-free, Peter Gould outlined questions viewers should keep in mind before embarking on season 6 of Better Call Saul :
The creator of the series did not stop there. He also said that the storyline of this season fits perfectly with that of the Breaking Bad series. Some events of the latter should also be explained in season 6 of Better Call Saul:
