The dramatic fiction tells us the daily life of Rue, the teenager Rue Bennett who returns from her rehab after overdosing. She meets a new student in her high school, Jules.
Season 1 ends with the 8th episode, titled “Spread Salt Behind You” . We could see Rue relapsing into the maze of drugs with a surreal musical sequence while Jules leaves to join another city. Cassie is looking for an abortion and Maddy has managed to steal from Nate's room a rather incriminating CD recording about the father of the latter.
To fill the (long) time between seasons 1 and 2, the series has released "covid special" episodes . The first one went live on Sunday, December 6, 2020. This special episode is titled:"Misfortune is not eternal" and follows the Street Christmas celebrations . As she remembers leaving Jules at the station, we hear the voiceover say:"Maybe I deserve it" . Here is a video extract of this episode in the style of a cinema film.
It looks like the focus of Season 2 will be to further explore Rue's relapse and struggle with addiction , and the impact and influence it has on others. His special covid episode, "Misfortune is not eternal" , showed how much she felt abandoned when Jules (Hunter Schafer) ran away to town, which drove her to use drugs again and put her in a particularly dire situation.
Remember the episode 8 cliffhanger that left you all in the dark with this question in your mind:Is Rue dead? What seems most likely is that dramatic fiction will move towards a closer follow-up of Rue's path to recovery and the harmful effects of addiction .
Rue and Jules aren't the only characters in Euphoria, and the plot of the other teenagers is equally interesting. The couple Maddy - Nate who led a rather toxic relationship, Nate finally confronts his father before being violently angry on him , as for Maddy, she is single again… According to Jacob Elordi, who plays the character of Nate, the final scene was very strong. He told Entertainment Weekly:"the way I looked at the scene was that it was a very difficult goodbye. Because right after his depression, he tried... to have a moment of clarity but it was too late" .
Fez, a fan-favorite character, was Rue's drug dealer at the start of Season 1, but soon changed his mind when Rue's addiction got worse . Unfortunately, Fez is going to dive even deeper into crime to be able to pay off his dealer, Mouse. The final scene ends in a terrifying cliffhanger, leaving viewers dumbfounded and wondering if Mouse will accept the stolen money or if this will be the end for Fezco . Knowing that both are armed.
The number of episodes has not been announced by the showrunners or the cast, but given that Season 1 has eight episodes , it is likely that the number will be the same for season 2.
All the characters should be back for more melodrama in Season 2. Zendaya is still leading the cast of Euphoria to play the role of Rue and the narration will still be done by the actress. You will also be able to continue to follow the adventures of Jules Vaughn played by Hunter Schafer. The photos published on the various social networks of the actors leave no doubt about the return of all the colorful cast of season 1.
Three new characters could join the cast of season 2. However, we do not yet know who will play them:Darian isan intriguing boy but not very popular in high school, he may struggle with addiction. On the personality side, the teenager is vulnerable, sensitive while being mischievous. Another boy, named Ray, attractive, intelligent and authentic. Will he capsize the heart of a single person in season 2? Then finally there is Amy, a drug-addicted stripper , she has a strong character and does not have her tongue in her pocket.
