Outer Banks Season 2 has topped the top 10 most-watched series on Netflix since its launch. The drama series even climbed to the top of the rankings t in France, in the United Kingdom in several countries. The Pogues' war against the Kooks moved out of the Outer Banks and into the Bahamas. The scavenger hunt for gold and the Cross of Santo Domingo is far from over! Season 2 was punctuated by revelations of buried secrets and answers to questions left hanging in Season 1. Fans are all wondering what's next for John B., Kie, Pope, JJ, and Sarah. While we wait for Outer Banks season 3 and all the sequel possibilities it might hold, here's everything we know so far.
Netflix has yet to confirm the future of the popular series beyond the second season. But given its popularity on Netflix, there is little doubt that the Netflix series, Outer Banks will be extended for a season 3, or even a season 4 and 5. If a third season is considered, Outer Banks is not expected to return. before mid-2022 at the earliest . Namely that there was a little over a year of waiting between the first two seasons. The first season of Outer Banks having aired in April 2020 and the following season barely released at the end of July 2021.

Netflix loves to end the season with a cliffhanger that goes off with a bang. This is the case for season 2 of Outer Banks. The dramatic cliffhangers it's a bit Netflix's specialty for its teen series. Outer Banks is very popular on Netflix and that's understandable! The series is about a gang of young misfits looking for riches along the North Carolina coast. For many fans, the ending of Outer Banks Season 2 came as a bit of a shock! And we can understand you. Throughout the series, Sarah and John B. continued their quest for the treasure reuniting with the rest of the Pogues in Charlotte. The gang managed to avoid Ward, Rafe and the new Carla but the threat is never far from this group.
Remember, the Pogues lost the gold cross they had just acquired for the benefit of Sarah's family, during a dramatic confrontation on a freighter. Having nearly escaped death (once again), the gang manages to leave the ship to find themselves on a desert island. The season then ends with Carla on her way to meet John B's father. (a kind of magical healing cloth that would be hidden in the golden cross). On the other hand, Carla must in return help John B. and his friends. For Season 3, this treasure hunt is expected to continue. Fans are obviously hoping that John B. can finally find his father who is finally alive. Netflix has yet to announce if the Netflix series Outer Banks is officially renewed. Nevertheless the popularity of the series and the cliffhanger of season 2 leave no doubt that a sequel is on the way. Season 1 aired in April 2020, while Season 2 was released in July 2021. Outer Banks Season 3 is scheduled for release in 2022 , if we stick to the calendar. Creator and showrunner Jonas Pate recently revealed that he's looking at four or five seasons for the series in total. For those who were afraid that season 2 would be the last, you can breathe!
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner of the Netflix series said that "ever since we started, we've always looked at it as something that was probably like a show of four seasons maybe five seasons, but definitely four seasons" . He also revealed that even before Outer Banks season 1 was released, Netflix had given the green light to write the script for season 2. Which could mean that season 3 could be written right now to produce the next season. The Covid-19 pandemic has upset the calendars of most series and season 2 of Outer Banks has also suffered since it was only broadcast in July 2021. The third season should be less affected and should be released without delay next year. Maybe early summer 2022.

Netflix has yet to announce any details regarding the third season of Outer Banks. The plot is still unknown although we can assume that season 3will continue on the treasure hunt of the first and second seasons. The 400 million dollars in gold will always be hidden in the Bahamas without forgetting the cross in jewels. Ward Cameron, Sarah's evil father is injured but still alive. He officially hands over to his son Rafe . In season 3 Rafe will undoubtedly seek revenge against John B. and his team. Meanwhile, John B. and Sarah are married again.
Cleo, a Caribbean girl and one of the newest additions to the Outer Banks cast. Played by Carlacia Grant, she quickly became a fan favorite . The latter finds herself stranded on the island without water or food. We can also expect the third season to feature their return as well as their grand plan to recover the gold and the cross. The most important will obviously be the alleged reunion between John B. and his father, whom everyone believed to be long dead. Without forgetting the search for the sacred garment that the frightening Limbrey wants to have to cure her mysterious illness. To be continued... Co-creator Shannon Burke announced "more room" for romance in the third season with the arrival of the Pogues on an island they call Poguelandia. We're very excited about how this mythology will expand in the third season. We've read a lot of books, and we've got some good stuff to hang it on" . We look forward !
